Resistance Stretching is a comprehensive and innovative approach to flexibility training. It is based on the principal that muscles stretch maximally when they contract while simultaneously being lengthened. By contracting the muscle as it is lengthened, tension and torque is taken out of the muscles and joints. The results are improved flexibility and strength. Moving the body through multiple planes of movement with resistance allows for both concentric and eccentric training. Optimizing the length-tension relationship of muscles creates positive changes in structural alignment, muscular performance and bone rotation. Resistance Stretching combines strength training and flexibility training to create optimum balance and efficiency in the body.
